A live, hands-on introduction to knowledge graphs in practice
The Knowledge Graph Academy is a six-week, cohort-based learning programme for people who want to understand how knowledge graphs actually work — and how to use them thoughtfully in real-world settings.
This is not a passive, video-based course. All sessions are taught live, in small groups, with an emphasis on discussion, shared exploration, and learning by doing. You don’t need to arrive with all the answers — curiosity, engagement, and a willingness to experiment matter far more than prior expertise.
Participants come from a wide range of professional backgrounds, and the Academy is deliberately designed to support that diversity of experience.
6 live teaching days over 6 weeks
Instructor-led, interactive sessions (not recorded)
Delivered online via Google Classroom
Small breakout groups (typically 3 people) for hands-on exercises
Ongoing discussion and support via a dedicated Discord cohort space
Sessions are spaced weekly to give you time to reflect, revisit ideas, and let concepts settle. There’s no required homework — the course is self-contained — but many participants choose to explore ideas between sessions.
By the end of the Academy, you’ll have:
A solid understanding of knowledge graph fundamentals and graph thinking
Hands-on experience working with RDF, controlled vocabularies, and lightweight ontologies
Practical skills for querying knowledge graphs with SPARQL
Insight into how knowledge graphs are used in real organisational contexts
A clear sense of not just how things work, but why they’re done in particular ways
The emphasis throughout is on practical understanding, not abstract theory.
